What can I put in my dumpster?
Dumpsters can be used for general waste which is typically anything involved with a general cleanup around the house and property that is neither liquid nor of a hazardous nature.
What can’t go in the dumpster?
Hazardous waste can not be placed in the dumpster. This includes TV’s, monitors, fridges, paints, solvents, liquids or any asbestos. To dispose of any of these materials you need to contact your local government. They will be able to provide you with a contact who can dispose of anything hazardous or not accepted in your dumpster (i.e. food waste).

Household Debris, Clean Construction Debris, Clean Concrete, Soil / Dirt, Stump and Brush.
What is Household Debris?
Light comingle waste from a house hold cleanup.
DO NOT PUT: Bricks, concrete, food waste, asbestos, hazardous waste, chemicals, insulation materials, liquids, gas bottles, tires, mattresses, computer monitors or hard drives, or any electrical equipment with plugs.
A Heavy debris dumpster can be ordered to handle the Bricks, concrete, top-soil, fill, etc...
What is Clean Construction Debris?
Wood, Plaster, Insulation, Styrofoam, Tiles, Shingle, Ceramic Goods, Sheet Rock/Drywall. ( General Demolition type Garbage )
What is Clean Concrete?
Concrete ONLY. DO NOT PUT: Anything other than clean concrete in this receptacle. NO bricks, asphalt or ceramics.
What is a Green Dumpster?
Stumps, branches, grass clippings, leaves, green woods, etc...
What is Soil / Dirt?
100% pure soil / dirt (no turf or contaminants). No other waste can be mixed in this dumpster. Additional charges will apply if other waste is placed in this dumpster.
What is Stump and Brush?
Tree stumps and branches.
How high can I fill the dumpster?
Dumpsters can be filled level to the top, except for the Clean Concrete waste type. This dumpster must not be filled any further than half way due to weight restrictions. (Please do not exceed the YELLOW FILL LINE MARKINGS)
What if I have two different waste types? Can I mix them?
The only dumpster in which you may mix more than one waste type is the Household Debris dumpster. If you are placing heavy waste in this dumpster there is a weight limit of 250 pounds per 1 cubic yard so you may be charged an extra weight fee if you fill over and above this limit. It is suggested that you order a small dumpster for each waste type you are disposing of rather than just one large one.
How much notice do I need to give when ordering my dumpster?
We are able to deliver a dumpster within a 12 - 24 hours of ordering, however, it is suggested dumpsters be ordered as far in advance as possible. Ordering as far in advance as possible ensures you are able to get the dumpster on the exact date and time you would like it to be delivered.
How do I know if I need a Permit?
Each city within each county may have differing expectations in regard to permits required for placing a dumpster on public or private land. To ensure you are aware of the expectation, time frame and cost required for arranging any necessary permits, contact your local county office and they will be able to provide you with this information. Permit are not necessary for the most part thought out Connecticut if you are placing the dumpster on your own property. Dumpster can not be left in the roadway unattended with out a permit. “ The Yale New Haven Area of New Haven is a good example of a permit being required if on street parking is necessary “
How big will my dumpster be?
The dumpster’s size is measured in cubic yards. To get an idea of the dumpster size, view the scale drawing on our homepage at step 4 of the order process. 1 cubic yard is the equivalent of 1 yard wide by 1 yard long by 1 yard high. So a 6 yard dumpster has the capacity to hold 6 ‘cubic yards’.

button during the order process to determine the size of each dumpster
(the images are indicative of volume only and dimensions may vary).
How much does it cost to have a dumpster?
Depending on the waste type, size of the dumpster and length of rental, costs will vary. Enter your requirements on the website, and it will offer the lowest price to meet your requirements, with no obligations. Pricing is based on 250 lbs per cubic yard, for example a 3 yard dumpster price allows for 750 lbs of waste.
How long can I keep the dumpster?
You can order a dumpster for up to 28 days.
What if I’m not finished with the dumpster by pick-up day?
If unforeseen circumstances mean that you have not finished with the dumpster, you should contact GPOD as early as possible. Provided the dumpster has not been ordered out on another job, we can usually be flexible.
When and how do I pay for the dumpster?
All dumpster orders are paid for at the time of ordering on the website. We accept payment by all major credit cards, over our secure server (see Security page). If you incur additional charges, the GPODCT.COM will Re-charge your credit card at the time we dump the container.
How much weight can I put in the dumpster?
This depends on the size of the dumpster. During the order process you are told the weight limit for each different dumpster size.
What do I do with hazardous chemicals?
You cannot put any hazardous waste into the dumpsters. Anything of a hazardous nature should be disposed of carefully with the right procedure. If you are unsure of how to dispose of any hazardous waste you need to contact your local counties hazardous waste department.
Will the truck be able to get up my driveway?
GPODCT.COM caters to the typical home owner and we have smaller trucks for tricky locations. Your drive needs to be 10 feet wide for a normal truck with a 6 cubic yard dumpster (standard size). Once ordered you should contact GPOD and discuss the location of the dumpster, if you think that access may be difficult.
Can I place the dumpster on public land?
Some states require a special permit for this, please contact your local government to find out, and if so, allow time to arrange the permit before the delivery date.
What time is the dumpster delivered and collected?
When placing your order you can record any specific instructions in the “Delivery Comments” box. Once you order your dumpster you will be emailed a confirmation, this will outline all of GPODCT.COM’S contact details, and you can contact them directly to confirm and/or arrange the best time. We try everything possible to make sure your dumpster in delivered when and at what time you desire.
Do you service business/commercial customers?
You will be able to order a dumpster from the site using a credit card. However we do not offer charge accounts at this stage.
Can I get a dumpster delivered on Sunday?
You can order a dumpster for Sunday delivery using the GPODCT.COM online order Wizard; however the choices of GPODCT.COM may be limited due to the drivers available on a Sunday. If possible request the dumpster to be delivered on the Friday or Saturday prior or please give us a week or so notice and we will make it happen for you!
Can I hire a permanent dumpster from GPODCT.com?
YES!
Does GPODCT.com supply plastic mobile garbage bins (wheelie bins)?
Currently this is not a service that we are able to offer.
